Summary: Really great swaddling blanket 2008-10-14
Comment: We have two favorite swaddle blankets in our house. This one is my husband's favorite because it is so soft and holds a swaddle very well. When I first saw these, I thought "what a gimmick. We know how to swaddle a baby and know that you can use many types of blankets to do so." True, but this one is perfectly suited in size and material and it's very pretty - nice for those snuggly newborn photos. (I slightly prefer the JJ Cole Swaddle Blanket - Blue Stripe because it feels more substantial and cozy and our baby clearly loves the satin binding and the feel of the blanket material. It is also very attractive and coordinates with the JJ Cole's wonderful burp cloths, which are the absolute best. I am glad we have both.)

Summary: it's just a blanket 2008-09-01
Comment: I don't see why this blanket costs $20+.
It's not incredibly soft (my son hates the texture), and any large baby blanket works just as well. We gave ours away and ended up using a big, soft baby blanket that my mom picked up at a department store for $10.

Summary: Largest swaddling blanket out there 2008-03-11
Comment: These swaddling blankets are not only beautiful & great quality, but they are the largest by far making swaddling much easier than with 99% of the swaddling/receiving blankets out there (we found it to be impossible to swaddle our baby with any of the other blankets). For newborns it works great. When the baby gets a little bit bigger and stronger though (in our case at about 6 weeks) even this blanket can be too small and the baby can kick it off. We switched over to the Baby Bonkie which has worked WONDERS in getting our baby to sleep through the night.
