The Receiving Blanket is designed by a nurse so that the child is always in mind. Swaddling a child is very important. A baby's natural position is with the arms bent at the elbows and the legs flexed. Wrap the child up just like that and don't worry about making attempts to straighten him/her out before starting. Avoid having the blanket touch the cheek of the baby as that can stimulate the rooting respone and wake child up.

Summary: Pink/Brown Receiving Blanket 2008-02-10
Comment: I purchased this blanket from my friend's Baby Shower Registry...she LOVES it! Every time we talk (often) she raves about how wonderful it is! She says it's HUGE, and super-soft, and of course BEAUTIFUL! I would definitely recommend it...it's been a BIG hit!

Summary: A terrific size for proper swaddling of your little one 2007-03-02
Comment: I bought a few of these blankets when I realized I wasn't able to really wrap my newborn baby the correct way with the standard, smaller blankets. These really came through and work like a charm! Now at almost 7 months, I can still get my baby in a really secure swaddle position when she needs it. I also agree with the product description that states other uses for this blanket - It's great for playtime, nursing blanket, etc. Washes well, very soft, all around a GREAT purchase!
